About Me

My goal is to give down to earth tools, tips and techniques to parents, grandparents and caregivers, who have questions or troubles during those early parenting years. I want you to know you are not alone on this journey. I want to help you with encouragement and straightforward advice mixed with a little humor. My posts will focus on infants , toddlers and preschoolers. I want to show you new toys, books, products and items that might make the parenting journey a little less complicated and a lot more fun. Why am I doing this and what makes me different? I can tell you I'm educated in Early Childhood and have 41 years experience, taught preschool , ran after school programs with Campfire Inc. and Girls Clubs , and had a successful home day care business for 30 years.  I have worked with all different kinds of families, but the best experience and knowledge comes from hands on, down in the trenches, trial and error my husband and I have had with our 3 boys and grandchildren.  In my daycare home I have always tried to create a family experience for all of the children I have taught, loved and cared for all of these years. I wanted my daycare parents to know when they dropped of their little ones,  they were "home" and when they went to work they could  be completely relaxed knowing they were at "Nona's House". They could come to me with any problem or concern, day or night, to just listen , give them some encouragement or good old-fashioned advice. I hope to bring that same feeling to my readers.
